According to Channel News Asia, ‘four foreign workers died in a fire accident at a unit of shophouse of No. 35, Geylang Lorong 4’ (Channel News Asia 2014).

‘The tragedy was happened on the early morning of 6 Dec, 2014. Four Malaysians who lived in ground floor unit were victims’ (Catherine 2014). The unit of shophouse was used as a dormitory which might house more foreign workers than legal allowed.
