Interviewing and filming of foreign workers
‘We are a group of secondary school students from Hwa Chong Institution who are working on a project about foreign workers. The aim of our project would be to highlight the roles of foreign workers in Singapore’s society and the contributions they make.
So we came across your website and your list of foreign worker dormitories, and after taking a look at it, we were wondering if you would allow us to come to one of your dormitories and interview the foreign workers there? We would only be asking a few questions and we will not take very long. Also, would it be acceptable if we could film the interviews? This is to provide a more convincing appeal to the videos as it generates authenticity and conveys the information of the foreign workers better.
We will only be there for about an hour and any one of your dormitories would be suitable for us. If it is not too much, would it be all right for us to conduct the interviews this coming Sunday(6 July)? Some questions we would be asking include:
1. What kind of jobs do you have?
2. How has your life been in Singapore?
3.Are there any difficulties you face?
Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding. We hope you will allow us this opportunity. Thanks.’
If there were some dormitory vendors interested in the cooperation, please do contact Phang through email@example.com.
